Courses Approved for the Global Health Studies Certificate and Minor

The Global Health Studies certificate requires a minimum of 11 semester hours of core courses (listed below), and 7 semester hours of Global Health Studies electives (chosen from the lists below). At least 15 semester hours must be in upper-level course taken at the University of Iowa.

The Global Health Studies minor requires a minimum of 15 semester hours chosen from the approved courses below. At least 12 semester hours must be upper- level coursework taken at the University of Iowa.

Upper-level coursework has a course number above 100 (ex: 152:119 Health in Mexico is upper-level; 152:081 Ancient Medicine is lower-level).
