I am originally from Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota where I graduated during the 2010 academic year with a BA in anthropology. During the summers of 2010 and 2011 I studied Miocene vertebrates in Africa where I was funded by a National Science Foundation REU grant. During my second year I had the opportunity to excavate two large bone beds which yielded new species. It was during this period in Kenya that I decided to pursue a graduate degree in paleontology focusing on crocodylians. Outside of my studies I love backpacking, camping, and any excuse to get outdoors.
