American
Sign Language

ASL has rules of grammar and usage as different from English as any foreign language. We offer courses in ASL from introductory to advanced levels, in the history, literature, and culture of the Deaf community in the U.S.; and representations of  Deaf people in literature, film, and the media. These courses can lead to an ASL minor, a certificate in ASL and Deaf Studies, or Hearing Impaired Endorsement for students seeking teaching licensure.
